Nursery

Early Years 1 (2 - 3 year olds Nursery)

Most of our 2 year- old places are for local children who are eligible for free provision under the government scheme.

Paying places are available where they don’t stop us giving free places to eligible children.

Paying places are charged at £6.50 per hour. We try to keep our prices low to support the local community.

Children must attend for at least two full sessions per week and we recommend a minimum of three sessions. This is because it takes a very long time for children to settle and feel secure if they only attend once per week. Everything we do has the children’s best interests at heart.

If your child is offered a paying place, it will not be removed if a child with a free entitlement later applies.

Children who attend Rosemary when they are two are given priority for places when they become three.

To be eligible for a free place you must get one of the following:

•             Income Support

•             Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

•             Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

•             Universal Credit

•             Tax credits and you have an annual income of under £16,190 before tax

•             The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

•             Support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act

•             The Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

A child can also get free early education and childcare if any of the following apply:

•             They’re looked after by a local council

•             They have a current statement of special education needs (SEN) or an education, health and care (EHC) plan

•             They get Disability Living Allowance

•             They’ve left care under a special guardianship order, child arrangements order or adoption order

Application is made online to the local authority. Please phone into the nursery to make an appointment for  if you need help  with filling in the form.

Early Years 2 (3-4 year olds)

Children are entitled to 15 hours a week nursery education from the term following their third birthday.

We currently have 104 places in our nursery class, which is open 8.30 - 3.30 term time only.

If both parents/carers- or the sole parent if you are heading up a one parent family- are working for at least 16 hours per week, or are on maternity leave, you may be entitled to 30 hours early education for your 3 or 4 year old child.

You will need to get a code from the tax office to show that your family is eligible.

You can apply for 30 hours childcare here

Session Hours

Children attend for 15 hours per week, with most places offered as four mornings or afternoons with one longer session where teh children stay for lunch.  This is because we know young children learn better when they come to nursery every day than when they attend for longer sessions over fewer days. However, we do make exceptions when it is in the best interests of the child.

           4 x Mornings                       (9-11.30am)  + 1 longer day  (9-2pm)

or        4 x Afternoons                    (12.30-3pm)  + 1 longer day  (9-2pm)
